Discover The Specialized Charities Group Inc. Grant Store:
Compassionate Support at Your Fingertips
At Specialized Charities Group Inc., we believe that dignity, compassion, and access to essential resources should never be out of reach. That’s why we’ve created the Grant Store, a unique initiative designed to support individuals and families in need by providing everyday items at no cost. From clothing and shoes to household goods and personal care essentials, the Grant Store is more than a distribution center — it’s a community lifeline. The system we have developed is freely shared with other non-profits through our sharing program.
What Is the Grant Store?
The Grant Store operates as a resource center where eligible individuals can receive assistance through a point-based grant system, rather than traditional currency. This allows us to serve people with varying needs in a fair, efficient, and dignified manner. Think of it as a store where instead of money, you use grant points to select the items that will best help you and your household.
How the Grant Point System Works
Every individual or family who qualifies for assistance through Specialized Charities Group Inc. is issued a set number of grant points. These points are granted free of charge and can be used to "shop" at the Grant Store for a wide range of items including:
Clothing and shoes for all ages
Homewares and kitchen items
Bedding and linens
Personal hygiene products
Furniture and mattresses
Tools and building supplies
School supplies, toys, and more
Each item in the Grant store has a designated point value. This system not only helps ensure equitable distribution, but it also gives recipients the freedom to choose what they truly need.
Need More Points?
We've Got You Covered
We understand that sometimes needs exceed the initial grant amount — and that's okay. If you find yourself needing additional points, you can obtain additional grant points for a modest administrative fee of $1.00 per point*.
Each grant point is approximately $1.00 to $10.00 in value
with an average of $5.00 retail value per grant point.
This small fee helps cover the basic operational costs of running our programs, such as purchasing, transportation, storage, volunteer coordination, and facility maintenance. It also ensures that we can continue offering services to more individuals in the community, without cutting corners on quality or care.
We want to be clear: This is not a profit-making system. Every dollar collected through administrative fees goes directly back into our mission — helping seniors, veterans, families, and individuals in crisis gain access to the items and support they need to live with dignity and hope.
Additional Free-of-Cost Services
Beyond the Grant Store, Specialized Charities Group Inc.
offers a variety of other free support services to empower the community:
Emergency Relief Supplies for disaster victims
Holiday Gift & Toy Drives for children in need
Community Resource Referrals and advocacy
Job Readiness Training and basic needs programs
Veteran and Senior Support Services
Our goal is not just to provide material items, but to foster resilience, build connections, and remind each person we serve that they are not alone.
